Neurologic Rehabilitation

Welcome to

It Matters Neurologic Rehabilitation!

It Matters Neurologic Rehabilitation provides specialized physical therapy from the first and only Neurologic Clinical Specialist in the Brainerd Lakes area. Our clinic is mobile, which means we bring the outpatient clinic to your home, place of work, or otherwise to best meet each client's specific needs.

Neurologic Rehabilitation differs from typical physical therapy for joint and muscle pain because it emphasizes changing function.  In other words, we want our clients to be able to do the things that are important to them whether that's fishing, playing with grandkids, return to sport, etc.  A neurologic disease or injury and general aging change how the brain and/or spinal cord are able to communicate and control the rest of the body - the brain and body become disconnected.  It Matters uses the science of neuroplasticity to help retrain the brain and/or spinal cord to move the body.  It Matters provides the tools unique to you and your injury to change your brain and reclaim your life!

We offer specialized neurologic rehabilitation for:

  • Stroke - Ischemic, hemorrhagic, mini stroke/TIAs

  • Brain Injury and concussion

  • Brain Tumor

  • Spinal Cord Injury - traumatic or non traumatic

  • Spinal cord tumor

  • Vestibular Disorders (including vertigo)

  • Cerebellar Ataxia

  • Impaired Balance/Frequent falls

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

A good rule of thumb: if you're not able to move the way you want, do the things you want to do, live the life you want to live, chances are

Dr. Hurt can help!

It Matters Neurologic Rehabilitation is the first and only mobile, outpatient physical therapy clinic in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Physical therapy evaluations and treatment sessions are provided in the comfort of your own home, work, or recreational space to ensure your unique mobility needs are met, and to prevent weather and travel related inconveniences.  Additionally, in the current state of pandemic, this will limit unnecessary exposure in a waiting room (see FAQ for our safety protocol regarding COVID 19).
